Bill Spillane started his career in 1961 as a 15 year old novice working for a well know NZ homeware/giftware company, LD Nathan – as a sales representative. With his passion for the industry he then started his own company in 1975, Spillane's Trading Company, a local wholesale/importing company importing many famous household brands.
By 1984 Bill was appointed the chairman of NZGTA and has held that position until recently when he resigned at the 2014 AGM. Bill holds the position of the Association’s founding member, he will also remain as an active committee member and is also a current director of XPO Exhibitions.
XPO Exhibitions own 20 various trade industry shows which include:
buildnz/designex Canterbury, Emex, Printec, Foodtech Packtec, buildnz, plush, designex, NZ Food, South Island Hospitality show MHL, South Mach, Autumn, Winter & Spring Gift Fairs
Bill’s business, Spillane Trading built his homeware business by supporting and growing the NZ Gift Fairs.
Spilllane's Trading Company is the worldwide owner and distributor of the ZIP housewares brand.
