2015 Winter Gift Fair Retailer Prize Winner
Congratulations to the Winter Gift Fair Visitor Prize Winner - Katy Harris of Zip Gallery in Amberley, North Canterbury

When Katy Harris received the call to say she had won the 2015 Winter Gift Fair Prize for a trip for two to Fiji, she was thrilled. "I was so surprised, it’s the first thing I have won and such a wonderful thing to look forward to as winter envelops us". Katy and her husband Harry have owned Zip Gallery, in the small rural community of Amberley, North Canterbury for 8 years. Zip Gallery specializes in homewares and gifts. They always attend the Gift Fairs and find them a great way to fill the shop with new stock. Though buying on the Internet can be handy when restocking it is important to be able to see and touch the products at the fairs, you can get so much ordered in a few days. The Winter Fair is always a bonus as it is so easy to visit from Amberley. Katy also specialises in painted furniture which she sells in the shop as well as offering a service painting furniture for her clients. The main thing that influences the business is customer demand. "I have lots of lovely loyal customers and I have to keep the stock changing frequently so they will always find something new to purchase" says Katy |
